CARE International has been active in the NW Balkans (Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia & Montenegro) since 1992, providing emergency humanitarian interventions during the Bosnian, Croatian and Kosovo conflicts and since 1997 various development programmes in the fields of economic development, social protection, return and conflict mitigation and civil society development (with a focus on gender and youth).
